Although Australian born, we now reside in the Canadian province of Alberta, a very beautiful, uncrowded, polution free part of the world minus the poisonous spiders and snakes. By the time it came to to seriously think about settling down to some form of permanent home base, we had aleady become accustomed to, and grown to appreciate, the Northern hemisphere with its four distinct seasons. Australia, with its long, hot, dry, windy, bushfire prone summers and minimal season variations, no longer appealed to us as a place to call home. After extensive touring throughout Canada, Calgary, up in the foothills of the Rockies, with its nearby skiing opportunities and alpine hiking trails, was a logical choice for us to settle. The following 9 minute show will help to illustrate why we love this part of the world; I will add more of this type of thing later featuring all season trailer camping and hiking in the Rockies; so check this page every now and then for updates. Click the circle to start and have your sound up and once the show starts playing, you will be able to access and select the "Full Screen" icon (bottom right) if you wish but you will need to reverse that to return to the main menu.
Worth mentioning here is that part way through the below show, the music dies down on a sunset picture; this is NOT the end; wait a moment and the show will continue on with a slow fade-in sunrise.
